BARN DANCE
Fethard St Mogue’s GAA Club are holding a barn dance on Sunday, August 5, in Nunan’s Farm on the Ralph Road. Music by the Sinarios from 9 p.m. followed by Divine Invention. Tickets cost €10 are available from club members.
HOOK LIGHTHOUSE TALKS
‘The Wisdom of Wildflowers and Seeds’ is the first of a series of talks at the Hook Lighthouse on next Thursday evening, July 19. Remembering the healing power of our native herbs, Diane Fletcher Jones will introduce the audience to healing plants that grow around us with both nutritional and health giving benefits.
Following the success of the 2017 series, this year there are four talks over the next four Thursdays with the following three featuring Camilla Tunney on Clean Coasts, Brian Matthew remembering the Mills of New Ross and the Hook, and Kevin McCormick looking at the importance of Whales and Dolphins. TEA/COFFEE MORNING
Senior citizens Concern CLG is hosting a tea or coffee morning in St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange, from 9 a.m. to midday on Sunday, July 22. All are welcome and your support is greatly appreciated.
GORTA SELF HELP
The recent church gate collection in aid of Gort Self-Help raised a total of €302. The organisers would like to thank everyone for their generous support.

COUNTRY MARKET
Now in our 22nd year, market continues every Saturday in St Mary’s Hall, Fethard-on-Sea from 10.30 a.m. to midday supplying fresh vegetables, salad, herbs, plants, baking, chocolates, crafts, jewellery, prints and more.
WEEKLY LOTTO
There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €6,000 so next week’s jackpot stands at €6,100. The numbers drawn were 8, 12, 16 and 22. The club had two Luck Dip winners, Elizabeth White and Mick Shalloe, who won €30 each. The match-three winners from the previous week were Ned Roche and Ann Carroll.
SPLIT-THE-POT
Congratulations to Darren O’Grady, who was Saltmills and St Kearns Community Groups split-the-pot winner of €129 for
Stephen O’Connor, John McGrath, Anthony Dillon and Liam Traynor who took part in the St Joseph’s Athletic Club Pink Rock 10k walk/run.

THE BLUEBELL CAFÉ
The Bluebell Café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in ‘The Tea Room’ at St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange. The Bluebell Café is open to people with dementia, their partners, carers, families and friends. You have an opportunity to meet others with similar experiences, enjoy a cup of tea and a chat and speak with health and social care professionals and other experienced volunteers. LADIES GOLF SOCIETY
18 Abbey Ladies took on the hills of Blackwater Golf course in sweltering heat last Saturday. Having to cross water no less than 5 times didn’t make it easy. Balls were lost, some felt it a challenging course and loved it, some said the going was tough. Nevertheless it was enjoyed by all. The tea and baking by Anne O Grady was in great demand when we returned to the clubhouse. Thanks Anne.

GAA LOTTO
There was no winner of the €6,200 jackpot in the draw held on Tuesday, July 10. The winning numbers were 2, 10, 25 and 27. St James’ Club had no matchthree winners. Jackpot for the next lotto draw, on July 24, will be €6,500. Lotto tickets are available from committee members and local shops and pubs.
CAMPILE BINGO
There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing development of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximately being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.
