Taghmon ICA held its June meeting in the home of Eithne Magee. There was a discussion re An Grianan visit by members on the weekend of October 19/21. Wexford Federation outing to Les Miserables on December 20 is booking now. President Mary Noonan thanked Carol Gray for organising Summer Outing to Tramore Japanese Garden and Mt Congreve. It was a very enjoyable day.

A card and rose shrub was presented to Breda Codd for her recent birthday. Competitio­n: Nicest Rose was won by Mary Monaghan. Once business was concluded a delicious tea was served with strawberri­es and cream to finish.

President Mary Noonan thanked Eithne Magee for hosting the meeting and wished everyone a very good summer. Next meeting is on September 19. New members are always welcome.

COISTE NA NOG

Our under-13 footballer­s and hurlers are in action over the next week. Tonight (July 17) the hurlers are in action away to Adamstown tonight and the footballer­s play Ballyhogue next Tuesday (July 24). Throw-in for both games is at 7.30 p.m.

The Top Oil Intermedia­te A championsh­ip hurling will resume on Saturday the 21st against Our Lady’s Island at 7.30. Venue to be confirmed. Please come along and support the lads.

GOLF SOCIETY

The society recently went on what is becoming an annual treat recently and after much haggling and a dip into Joe’s tightly held purse strings for a subsidy we played one of the best courses in the country, the magnificen­t Druids Glen. 55 players turned up by car and bus (thanks to Nash Mini Bus Hire once again for the excellent service) all eager and
