Last Saturday our ICA guild stall at the Adamstown Show looked amazing and attracted a lot of attention. Thanks to all the ladies who turned up to decorate and man the stall for the day. Our president Helen was interviewed on South East Radio by Alan Maguire, who was very impressed by all our work and I think he would have joined up with the guild if he could.

UNDER-14 GIRLS FÉILE

Adamstown under-14 girls’ football team represented their club and county at the National Féile Peile na Og recently. This was an unique occasion for this talented team. The feile is firmly established as a high point in the GAA season for clubs.

An event like this requires enormous planning and preparation and the Adamstown backroom team of Kevin Bates, Claire Furlong, Jackie Roche, Jeremy English and Liam Gill are to be saluted as they worked tirelessly to enable these girls to progress to National Club level and come away with memories and experiences that will keep the involved in the game for years to come.

The team progressed to quarter final stage and were narrowly defeated by Ballymacarbery, Waterford. Our under-14 girls have a bright future as they were right up with the best of teams, but they have no regrets after playing their hearts out and performed brilliantly in all their games. More important, however was the chance to get away together and to get to know each other a little better and forge new friendships.

It was really an experience that they’ll never forget and they should be so proud of the way they represented their club and County. Thanks also for everyone from the club for the welcome home.

The team: Aoife McCabe, Riosin Gill, Caoimhe Curtis, Ellen Gill, Ellie Kehoe, Liz Dempsey, Isobel English, Leah Furlong, Katie English, Niamh English, Sinéad Roche, Ellen Duggan, Karolina Jaglarz, Rebecca Ogilvie, Niamh Bates, Chloe O’Neill, Ciara Mooney, Eilish Roche, Ella Furlong, Maeve O’Neill, Clodagh Crean and Erin McDonald.
