Absent motorists are fined and convicted in court

CONVICTION­S and fines were handed down to absent owners of motor vehicles at the District Court Wexford after evidence was given by New Ross community wardens.

Frank Maguire, Woodlands Marshalsto­wn was fined €100 for having no valid parking ticket at North Compound; €120 for having no valid tax disc at The Quay and €120 for being parked in the loading bay on The Quay. A further conviction was handed down in respect of a vehicle registered to Francis Maguire with the same Woodlands, Marshalsto­wn address for having no valid parking ticket at Doyle’s yard.

Also convicted were:

Michael Cash of 45 Cluain Fada, New Ross (fine €100, parked without a valid ticket at North Street);

Patrick Cullen, Butlerslan­d, Broadway (fine €100, parked without a valid ticket at North Street);

Bogdan Andrik, Unit 3, 46 South Street (fine €100, parked without a valid ticket at Sugar House Lane);

Nan Connors of 52 St Martin’s Park, Ballyculla­ne (fine €100, parked in place prohibited at Quay Street);

Alan Rossiter of 12 The Bungalows, Irishtown (fine, €100, parked without a valid ticket at North Quay);

Patrick Wicham 24 Cross Street, New Ross (fine €120, parked in place prohibited at South Street).

Each conviction came with an order to pay costs of €150.
