Creacon Wellness Retreat will provide the backdrop to this year’s New Ross & District Chamber Summer BBQ which takes place this Friday at 6 p.m.

The event will also coincide with the official launch of the 2018 New Ross & District Chamber Business & Community Awards.

The awards, which are now in their 11th year, recognise business and community groups across the town and district for their hard work, innovation and dedication to the community and local economy. They are sponsored by the New Ross Standard.

Guests will have the opportunit­y to hear first-hand from previous winners and learn more about this year’s categories, sponsors and the all-important dates and deadlines.

Speaking on behalf of the Chamber, President Jonathan Keenan said: ‘Our Summer barbecue is always a relaxed evening of food and fun and provides a great opportunit­y to meet and network with other business and community groups. All are welcome.’

Guests will enjoy a delicious barbecue prepared by Creacon Head chef Gaetano Pernagallo. Visitors will be given a drink on arrival and there will be a door prize. Compliment­ary transport to Creacon Wellness Retreat will depart from the Dunbrody Visitors Centre at 5.30 p.m. sharp with the return trip leaving Creacon at 9.30 p.m.

The cost will be €20.00 per person for members and €25 per person for non-members. Guests are asked to pre-book online at www.newrosscha­mber.ie or by emailing admin@ newrosscha­mber.ie. There is no entry fee, you just need to register by emailing DragRaceFe­thard@outlook.com and there will be fun prizes for fist home, last home, best drag king and queen and much more.

The start time is 11 a.m. from the monument in the village, and if you can’t ride, come along and watch. study group. This is the group’s fourth year running this group which starts back in September on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 3rd, 5th and 6th year students at a cost of €20 monthly.
