Ross garden furniture company lands blooming great TV3 deal

-

A garden lounge set designed and built by a New Ross company is being used by TV3 for their outdoor segments on their daily and weekend morning shows.

The Ireland AM and Sunday AM show hosts including Mark Cagney, Sinead Desmond, Simon Delaney and Alan Hughes have been doing interviews on the set designed by Culcita Garden Furniture and Outdoor Products, based at Butlersland business park in New Ross. TV3 ordered the set, which is part of the latest range by Culcita, from one of the many garden centres the County Wexford company supplies across Ireland.

Culcita’s Managing Director Paschal Bolger said the company were delighted to supply TV3.

He said: ‘We do business with numerous garden centres and this set was one that they saw in one of the garden centres we supply. It’s a nice lounge set and is one of our new aluminium ranges which have great durability. They use it when the weather is fine so it’s getting a lot of use lately,’ Mr Bolger said.

Originally founded in 1971 on Mary Street, New Ross, as a community development business which made clothes, Culcita branched into garden furniture in the mid-1980s.

Mr Bolger joined in the mid-1990s as an accountant before taking on the role as managing director.

Employing more than 75 people between full and part time, the company has had an office in the Far East for around 20 years and supplies household name multiples across Ireland and the UK including Argos and Sainsburys.

The company uses Nolan Transport hauliers, based nearby in Marshmeadows, New Ross, to transport their furniture to garden centres and large multiples across the UK from their large premises at Butlersland business park in New Ross, just off the N25.

Mr Bolger said: ‘It’s nice to get recognition for having proper quality and fully compliant products. The advantage is that they are not going to rust. We supply all the major multiples in the UK and Ireland and we are expanding our range to include a lot more high end products in garden centres, while continuing to supply to the large multiples.’

Mr Bolger said business is very good with demand up for high end furniture sets across Ireland and the UK.
