The final talk in the 2018 Hook summer Talks series will see Kevin Mac.
Cormick of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Society explain what an important part of Irish wildlife those two mammals are. Kevin, from Rosslare Harbour, is an avid nature lover and conservationist. He is also a keen wildlife enthusiast and sometime rehabilitator of whatever species that comes his way. The talk starts at 8 p.m. with refreshments at 7 p.m. Further details from 051 397055.
CAIRDE LOCH GARMAN RACE NIGHT
The Cairde Loch Garman race night in aid of Wexford GAA takes place at Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on August 16. A fun night is promised for all the family with great opportunities to get a photo with your favourite Wexford GAA stars. The first race gets under way at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at €10 each or €50 for a book of six and anyone who purchases a ticket will be entered into a draw for a Wexford GAA Season Passes for 2019.

The Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy hosts the finals of a Strictly Come Dancing Fundraiser for Slaney Search and Rescue which sees a total of 10 local pubs represented. MOVIES@GOREY ELVIS 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL.
It’s been 50 years since Elvis Presley performed his legendary 1968 ‘Comeback’ concert. Originally airing as a TV special, having not appeared on stage in front of a live audience for more than seven years, this spectacular performance is seen by many as the Memphis icon’s most substantial achievement as a stage performer. Movies@Gorey is screening a cinema exclusive about this event where the audience will be given a special introduction and studio tour by Steve Binder (the original producer and director), including special guest appearances and commentary offering a perspective on Elvis and his iconic status. MILLINERY WORKSHOP
A special workshop in Millinery, or hat-making, with Alice J Kelly will take place at Enniscorthy Library on Thursday, August 16, at 7 p.m. Having worked in millinery for the past six years from Blackwater, Alice produces superb bespoke hats and fascinators for all occasions.
