ST MOLING’S WELL

The annual patron honouring St Moling was held in Mullinakill on Sunday, September 2. This was a break with tradition as the Mass is usually celebrated on the Sunday on or after August 20 each year. The reason for the change of date was the fact that Pope Francis was in the Phoenix Park Dublin on August 26. On a beautiful September day in 2018 the crowds assembled to hear Fr Liam Barron celebrate Mass in the historic site at Mullinakill where St Moling lived as a hermit many centuries ago. Great credit is due to the organising committee who have the whole area surrounding the Holy Well in great condition for this yearly event celebrating with great reverence the age-old patron of St Moling.
