CARDS

Winners in the hall in Gusserane last week were Mick Whelan, Pat Murray and Johnny Colfer. Second went to John Sinnott, Kathleen Cadogan and Martin Stafford while David Murphy, James McDonald and Pat Whelan came third. The LGD went to Nick Doyle, Willie Kehoe and Mick Reville. Raffle winners were Johnny Cogley, John Power, Peter Stafford and James McDonald.

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner last week when the numbers drawn were 2, 26, 27 and 28. The one match-three winner was Garrett Finn of Kinnagh. This week’s jackpot stands at €2,900.

STUDY GROUP

A study group for Junior Cert to Leaving Cert students will commence in Clongeen NS on Tuesday, October 2. It will run each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is only €5 per week. It will provide an environmen­t conducive to study for your child. SILVER CIRCLE

Gusserane GAA Club have launched their Silver Circle draw again for this year. Entry each week is only €2 and the prize money paid out each week is €200. In total there will be 40 winners when the draw ends after 10 weeks. Lines are available from players and committee members. Your support would be most welcome.

IRISH DANCING

Kay and Aileen Sutherland’s Irish Dancing classes now resume after a highly successful year and Kay and Aileen look forward to welcoming all their pupils back to classes. New members are also most welcome to join. Come along and learn irish dancing for fun, fitness, friendship­s, or competitio­n. Classes take place in the Terrerath community centre every Friday evening from 6.30 p.m. For further informatio­n please ring Kay at 087 9035386.

RACE NIGHT

Gusserane camogie club hold their fundraiser race night on September 15 in the Vine Cottage, Saltmills. Liam Spratt is doing the tote and commentato­r on the night. Sponsorshi­p is welcomed for each race and horses are available to buy from all club members prior to the event. This is a great night not to be missed with finger food served.
