Her nice win came in the sixth draw of the year which was held on August 29 and the full results are on display on the Notice Boards in the churches and in the Parish Hall.

LATE JIM MEAGHER

The death occurred recently of Jim Meagher from the Schoolhouse Road Rosbercon after a long illness. Jim was a native of Cappawhite Co Tipperary, and was a well-known and respected person in the area. He was a quiet soft-spoken man and endeared himself to all to with whom he came acquainted during his long life.

Keenly interested in sport following the exploits of the Tipperary hurlers and also taking in golf, Jim was a member of New Ross Golf Club for many years and served there as captain in 1981. Fittingly therefore, Past Captains and presidents of the club provided a guard of honour at the removal of his remains from Doyle’s Funeral Home, The Old Rectory, Rosbercon to the Church of the Assumption where he was regular attender at Masses down the years.

Sincere sympathy goes to his wife, Rita, and the extended family on the passing of one of nature’s gentlemen-Go nDeana Dia Trócaire ar A Anam dilis.

ROSBERCON UNITED

Rosbercon United 2-2 Camolin Celtic: This was a classic game of two halves with the Rosbercon boys on top for the first half. It didn’t take long for Kevin Doyle to hit the back of the net with a real peach of a finish from a wonderful pass over the top from Barry Ryan. Rosbercon continued to press high up the pitch for the remainder of the half but Camolin proved tough to break down with Rosbercon taking a 1-0 lead into half time.

Camolin Celtic came out for the second half like a new team showing an abundance of energy and creativity in there play. Two quickfire goals put the Rosbercon boys on the backfoot. Kevin Doyle added to his tally late on to salvage a point for Rosbercon United, who were unlucky with chances at the end of the game.

Next up for is away game to Ballagh FC where hopefully Rosbercon can get back to winning ways.
