GREYHOUND RACING

THERE WAS no racing at Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on Thursday due to torrential rain, but there was a good night’s racing on Monday, with close finishes in the opening and final contests of the night.

Owner James Flynn enjoyed a good night, with his Rathbally runners to the fore to record a nice double in races two and six.

However, we must jump to Shebourne Park on Friday night as there was another special performance from Cushie Jet who recorded the fastest run of the first round of the Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby with a first prize of €22,500.

Can this be third time lucky for Cushie who has had no luck with the draw in two major finals already?

He showed just how good he is again when he gets a decent draw, and a brilliant 28.10 run confirmed his status as one of the top youngsters in the country.

Owners John Codd and Diana Brody from Enniscorthy will be keeping their fingers crossed for some luck with the draw in the coming rounds.
