HUNDREDS RAISE CASH FOR SCHOOLS AT LAKE REGION RUN
WITH the sun shining 130 runners took to the winding lanes of the John F Kennedy Arboretum on Sunday for the Integer Lake Region run in aid of St Patrick’s School in Enniscorthy and Educate Together NS in New Ross.
Enjoying the magnificent natural display of the colourful trees as they ran, the runners completed the four mile run with Aiden Rogers coming in first to great cheering from the crowd.
A crowd of 400 family members greeted them once they completed the run.
An Integer spokesperson said: ‘We were delighted so many people turned up. The run is in aid of two great schools and everyone enjoyed a great day and great weather.’
Children revelled in the children’s run for four to 12-year-olds and Integer managers got into the spirit of things with a fancy dress run. Children enjoyed the entertainment which included meeting Disney characters like Chase from Paw Patrol, Tigger and Winnie The Pooh. There was face painting, a bouncy castle and other fun games to enjoy.
An eye-popping selection of cakes were served with teas and coffees. The Integer committee would like to thank the ladies of the Park Run for their assistance with the races, Michelle Sinnott from Ballykelly Youth Club for helping with the teas and coffees and everyone who donated and participated in the event. The company, which is County Wexford’s biggest employer, plans to donate €30,000 split between the two school at the end of the year.
