Chamber holding several courses

-

WEXFORD Chamber of Commerce is holding a number of courses as part of its winter schedule of event.

The courses are subsidised by Skillnet Ireland with 25 per cent discount on most courses.

On October 18 they have organised a certified project management diploma level 8.

This Certified Project Management Diploma enables participants to easily combine their work commitments with professional career development. Classes take place one night a week for 3 hours over a 14-week period.

The course is designed for those individuals looking for a framework of best practices and techniques that will strengthen their core project management knowledge and also launch their professionally accredited career path.

The programme uses a blend of realistic project, exercises, lectures and discussion to help participants develop the necessary skills to effectively manage any size of project from beginning to end. It covers the project management life cycle, the ten knowledge areas of project management and a comprehensive competence assessment.

Also on October 18 there is a primary course in food hygiene.

This course is aimed at people working at operational level in both the Hospitality Industry and Food Manufacturing Industry. This course consists of eight hours, followed by a one hour assessment.

On completion of the course, successful participants are awarded a certificate from the Environmental Health Association of Ireland.

On October 31 there is a course on how to increase profits with energy efficiency.

This 2.5 hour free workshop will teach you how to develop an action plan to achieve identified savings in electricity usage, thus reducing your bill. Information will be given on the available grant aid and what types of projects qualify. Real life case studies will be presented and full workshop materials will be provided to attendees.

Please bring your bills with you on the day, as these will be analysed to show you where you are using most of your electricity.
