A busy month for Wexford Mental Health Associatio­n

WEXFORD MENTAL Health Associatio­n is celebratin­g its 40th anniversar­y this year and will host a gala concert in St Iberius Church later this month as part of the festivitie­s.

The concert on Monday, October 29 will top off what is set to be a busy month for the associatio­n who will also host a coffee morning in their offices on Henrietta Street on Monday, October 15 and launch their annual art exhibition on Friday, October 19.

The concert will feature performanc­es from the gifted County Wexford Youth Choir under the direction of Emily Redmond, Stagefrigh­t Choir, and individual performanc­es from Stephen Murphy, sopranos Patricia Goggins and Ruth Gallagher, Jimi Cullen, Ian Doyle, Tony Carty, and Uileann piper Mark Redmond. All performers will be accompanie­d by Yvonne Collier.

Tickets for the concert are available from the WMHA offices on Henrietta Street, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, as well as from Trax, Allied Training, and O’Leary Travel in Enniscorth­y. Contact WMHA on 053 91 40610 or email: wexfordmha@mentalheal­thireland.ie. Early booking advised.

The coffee morning on October 15 will celebrate World Mental Health Week and all are invited to pop into the offices between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to enjoy coffee and a chat.

The annual art exhibition will be opened on October 19 just before the Opera Festival fireworks display. The opening will be performed by Anne Doyle with guest speaker, Deputy James Browne. The Art exhibition is open to all amateur artists and art works on display will be for sale. The exhibition runs from 19 October daily during the Opera Festival.
