Some Members of the ICA went on a Walk around Kennedy Park to raise money for Wexford Mental Health Associatio­n and Women’s Refuge in Wexford Town on Sunday, September 23.

Several of the ICA members attended the Federation Meeting on Monday, September 24. It was with sadness that the Members heard of the passing of Mrs Maureen Lyng of the Rower, Co. Kilkenny.

At the next Guild Meeting on October 9 Mr John Byrne, Optician, The Quay, New Ross will speak of the various treatments that are available for eye problems. The meeting will start at 8 p.m.

LINE DANCING

Line dancing continues in Cushinstow­n old school on Monday mornings starting at 10.30 p.m. This dancing is a great way to get and keep fit while enjoying yourself. LATE PHILIP O’SHEA

The death occurred recently of Philip O’Shea, Corse, Templetown, Fethard-on-Sea. Beloved husband of Eithne and father of Matthew and Jack and grandfathe­r of Eve. Sadly missed by all his extended family, neighbours and friends. His Funeral Mass took place in All Saint’s Church, Templetown, on Tuesday, October 2, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

MONSTER BINGO

Monster bingo in St Mary’s Hall on Sunday, October 21, at 3 p.m. with more than €1,500 to be won. Also raffle with great prizes including hampers etc. Tea available during the afternoon. All welcome for a great afternoon.

FETHARD RANGERS

The club will be holding a Footee Golf competitio­n on Saturday, October 13, at Abbey Par three golf course in Winningtow­n. Everyone is encouraged to participat­e, men, women, boys and girls of all ages. It’s €10 per entry and there will be prizes for various things Inc first place, hole in one etc. Anyone that wishes to enter just contact anyone involved in the soccer club.

ST MOGUE’S LADIES’ CLUB

The St Mogue’s Ladies’ club Junior C camogie team sought to make history and become the first ever Fethard adult camogie team to win a championsh­ip when they played their County Final in Pairc Garman last Sunday. Full report in next week’s paper.

FETHARD ST MOGUE’S GAA

The intermedia­te hurlers played neighbours St James in the county semi-final in Wexford Park last Saturday, full report in next week’s paper.

COISTE NA NÓG

Our under-15 footballer­s played Glynn-Barntown in their Premier co semi-final recently. While Glynn forced extra time with a free deep into injury time to level up, it was our lads who dug deep to strike over the equaliser right on the stroke of the end of extra time. Final score 1-11 apiece and both teams will have to meet to do it all over again.

FOUNDATION COURSE

The club is hosting a foundation course for parents and prospectiv­e coaches which is open to all members and parents. This will be a three or four-day course held in the clubhouse on Monday, October 15, at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday 20 in Horeswood from 9-midday and Monday the 29th in Fethard clubhouse from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Whether you wish to help coaching teams, or would just like to participat­e in your child’s developmen­t, the foundation course is a great stepping stone to learning the basics of underage coaching. It’s a fun course with no testing nor any prior playing or coaching ability required. The club will cover all costs for members and parents. WEEKLY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €7,200 so next week’s jackpot stands at €7,300. The numbers drawn were 9, 20, 28 and 32. The club had one lucky-dip winners, Mai Whelan, who won €30 each.

CREATIVE EXCHANGE

The Creative Exchange group is back in Colclough Hall on Fridays. Drop In from 10 to one and meet others interested in making art and craft pieces. We will offer a Book Binding morning in October date to follow. We will have a Hamper of our work in Fethard post office next week. Lines e1 to support this local initiative.
