‘EducateTog­ether’ schoolispr­oposed

A multi-denominati­onal educationa­l group is considerin­g the possibilit­y of opening a new primary school in Wexford.

Educate Together, a national body which facilitate­s groups of parents to open multi-denominati­onal schools, named Wexford and Gorey as two towns in which they hope to open new schools.

‘Over the past number of years, we have been contacted by a number of people in all developing towns on the east coast,’ said the body’s chief executive, Paul Rowe.

‘We have opened a school in Wicklow town this year, and one in Waterford the year before last. We are aware of considerab­le interest in Wexford and down the coast.’
