Happy 5th birthday, Kelly’s Cafe
KELLY’S Café based in the Meadows and Byrne store in Drinagh Retail Park on the Rosslare Road, celebrated its 5th birthday in style.
The out-of-town destination with seating for 120 people first opened its doors in 2013 and quickly established itself as a great eating and meeting place for people from all over the county and further afield. To mark the birthday, customers were treated to complimentary coffees and teas which were sponsored by Java Republic.
Proprietor Bill Kelly celebrated with the staff by opening a Jeroboam of Champagne which was also enjoyed by cafe visitors.
The team at Kelly’s Cafe includes head chef Stephane Rochard and cafe managers Nicola Duggan, Aoife Coyne and Rachel Corish who work with an enthusiastic team to create a successful cafe offering home-made food from fresh local produce.
‘Here in Wexford, the sun, rain and mild climate encourage lush pastures, orchards laden with fruit and berries and the coasts and river teem with fresh fish for us all to enjoy’, said hotelier Bill.
The menu shows a strong commitment to Irish suppliers and a confident approach to providing excellent food. As well as favourites, such as pancakes with seasonal berries, scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with bacon, and the breakfast ‘Detox’ of poached eggs on a slice of toast with crushed avocado, feta and lime zest, the menu features options such as a selection of stonefired flatbread pizzas, fresh salads, side dishes, luscious tarts and pastries.
