CALENDAR

The Gusserane National School parents’ associatio­n are launching their first ever school calendar for 2019.

It will be on sale from December 3 for €10. If anyone would like to purchase one they can contact Ruth at 085 8000022 or Bridget at 087 9078904. The calendars would make a great Christmas present for all and your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

CARDS

Winners in the hall last week were Michael Whelan, Nicholas Doyle and Willie Kehoe. Second went to Alice Gaffney, Margaret O’Neill and Jamie Grangle. Third were Larry Larkin, Jimmy Larkin and Joe Ryan while fourth went to John Sinnott, Kathleen Cadogan and Martin Stafford. In fifth place were Pat Ryan, Tom Corcoran and Watty Byrne and the last game draw went to Larry Power, Jim Kehoe and Pat Murray. Raffle winners were Larry Power, Larry Larkin, Brendan Colfer, Jimmy Haughton and Pat Murray.

SANTA CLAUS

Kids’ disco, with special guest appearance from Santa Claus on Sunday, December 9, from three till 5 p.m. in the Tintern Complex. There will be spot prizes for the best Christmas jumper and loads more fun is guaranteed.

BALLYCULLA­NE VEGGIE GROUP

The Ballyculla­ne Organic Veggie group wish to remind you that we have now changed our meeting times. During the autumn/winter months we now meet on a Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. and on Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. Our vegetable plot is behind the village hall in Ballyculla­ne where we grow various fruit and vegetables throughout the year. There was no jackpot winner last week when the numbers drawn were 13, 15, 18 and 23. The match-three winners were Maureen white of Clonmines and A Kerin of Saltmills.this week’s jackpot stands at €4,700.

TINTERN REVIEW

The 2018 Tintern Review is currently on sale throughout the parish and beyond and would make a great Christmas Stocking filler. This year’s edition includes articles on Operation Transforma­tion, Ballyculla­ne Ploughing, Gusserane GAA, Gusserane School, the Mullinderr­y Mill as well as many other topics of local interest. The cost is only €7 and sales are expected to be brisk in the lead up to Christmas.
