Workshops in printmaking and drawing at artist’s studio
The Enniscorthy-based artist John Busher is hosting a series of informal workshops in printmaking and drawing, taking place over six weeks in February and March, catering for complete beginners and those who want to refresh their skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to make art in a studio setting and become familiar with a variety of printmaking tools and equipment, such as an etching press and hotplate.
John has over 10 years teaching experience in various environments from schools, hospitals and prisons to community settings. Most recently, he taught in the National College of Art and Design in Dublin at the Centre for Continuing Education.
As an artist, he has has exhibited nationally and internationally, in galleries including 0- 0 LA (Los Angeles) and Saatchi Gallery (London), and recently his work was shown at Beep Painting Biennial, and the Elysium Gallery in Swansea.
Last year, his artwork was published in Art Maze, an international contemporary arts journal found in prominent galleries such as White Cube (London) and he also received an Artlinks Bursary Award ( Wexford County Council) to carry out painting research at Turps Art School (London).
John has an MA in Art in the Contemporary World from NCAD and is fully registered with the Teaching Council.
The separate printmaking and drawing workshops will run over a six week period with each course having a maximum of six adult participants. Bookings can be made at www. eventbrite.com.
