FERNS UNITED retained their Premier One Shield title when they overcame Adamstown 3-0 to win this particular competition for the fourth year in a row.

It was the ability to score goals that was the difference between the sides, as Adamstown defended strongly but could not contain the firepower of the current Premier leaders.

Goals from Leona Breen, Liz Evered and Mary O’Neill saw Ferns run out comfortable winners in the end.

New Ross Town and Corach Ramblers served up a thriller in the Divisional Shield final in St. Leonards, with the latter eventually running out winners courtesy of a Niamh Miller goal.

Ross enjoyed the better possession in this game but failed to take their chances, while Niamh kept a calm head when she got through on goal and took her chance.

Valerie Redmond became the heroine for Ramblers when she saved a penalty with five minutes to go, and Corach secured the first part of a potential treble.
