Winners in the hall last week were Siobhán Doyle, Karl Hall and Johnny Cogley. Second went to Kathleen Cadogan, Michael Whelan and Martin Stafford. Third were Marie Doyle, Noel Redmond and Declan Egan while fourth went to Pat Murray, Mick Reville and Willie Kehoe. The last game draw went to Dave Murphy, James McDonald and Pat Whelan. Raffle winners last week were Jimmy Haughton, Declan Egan, Jamie Grangle and Kathleen Cadogan.

SYMPATHY

The death took place last week of Mikie Duffin of Drealistow­n. Mikie was a retired employee of CIE and knew every inch of the railway line that he lived beside. He was predecease­d by his wife, Anne, just over two years ago. Sincere sympathy is extended to the Duffin family on their loss. Mikie’s funeral Mass and burial took place in Ballyculla­ne last Friday.

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner last week when the numbers drawn were 8, 9, 14 and 25. The match-three winners were Catherine Rossiter and Brendan Colfer. This week’s jackpot stands at €5,750.

FREE COMPUTER TRAINING

The internet is a wonderful resource and it’s for everybody. However, almost one in seven adults living in Ireland have never used the internet. The Government’s ‘Getting Citizens Online Programme focuses on supporting and empowering citizens to participat­e fully in Ireland’s digital economy and society. So if you would like to get the basic skills to send or receive emails, shop online, check online services or do your banking online, this free basic training is for you and it will be coming to the Gusserane area soon. Further details to follow shortly.

LOTTO SYNDICATE

Gusserane GAA Club are embarking on a major fundraiser for 2019 with a view to putting in a gym at the club’s facilities in Gusserane. It involves getting 300 people to sign up to €20 per month for a full year. Payment includes you in a large lotto syndicate where you will be included in each National Lottery and Euromillio­ns Draw each week for the year and also includes a paid up ticket for the Model County Draw.

There will be two lucky winners drawn from the hat each month as well as a special draw for fully paid up members. The club will be looking for members to join up before the end of February. Further details are available from any member of the Gusserane GAA Club executive and from the Gusserane GAA Facebook and GORahilly Twitter accounts.

DANCE

Gusserane parish council will hold a night of social dancing in Gusserane Hall on Friday, March 15. Proceeds are in aid of church funds, and more particular­ly towards a fill of heating oil. Tickets will be widely on sale in the area in the lead up to the dance and your support would be most welcome. Music on the night is by the popular Delta Dawn. Dancing is from 9.30 p.m. to midnight with a break for tea. The organisers would be delighted to have a full house and look forward to your support. Tickets only €5. Please take note of the date.

TIDY VILLAGE AGM

The Gusserane Tidy Village AGM will take place on Thursday, January 31, at 8 p.m. in the hall in Gusserane. All are welcome to attend and new faces are especially welcome.
