Convincing win for five-star Glynn

Glynn Barntown moved three points clear at the top of Division 2 with a 5-0 win over Cushinstown on Sunday.

Dave Clarke opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a beautiful volley, and Nigel Usher soon doubled their advantage when he broke clear from the right, headed straight for goal and tucked the ball away from the edge of the area.

Clarke bagged his second just before the interval, heading a Ríoghan Crosbie corner to the net.

Allen Colgate was introduced for the second-half and five minutes in he made space for himself on the edge of the area and slotted the ball home.

Kevin Carmody then rounded off the scoring when the ball broke to him inside the six-yard box and he blasted to the net.

Ferns United moved level with Adamstown in second spot as they earned a 4-2 win away to Shelburne United.

Benny Jordan (two), Conor Jordan and Jonny Dwyer scored for the visitors, with Paudie Lynch and Chris Connick hitting the back of the net for Shelburne.

Crossabeg put in a five-star performance against Taghmon United, coming out on top 5-0 in a dominant display.

Stephen McGuire certainly had his shooting boots on, scoring four goals for Curracloe United in their 7-1 win over Killenagh Wanderers.

Conor Hearne, Mark O’Connor and Tomás Murphy got their other goals, with Martin Flynn hitting the back of the net for Wanderers. they took a 2-1 advantage, but the Murrintown side weren’t to be denied, with Jason Ellard, Aaron Devereux and Keith Murphy getting their goals.

Wexford Bohs are also in the shake-up and they edged out Ajax Athletic by the odd goal in seven. Robbie O’Connor (two), Stuart Hayden and Micheál O’Rourke hit the back of the net for Bohs, with Seán Farnan, Adam Fox and Jamie O’Grady replying for the Rajahs.

John Staples helped himself to a hat-trick as Corach Ramblers won 6-2 in Oylegate. Eoin O’Connor (two) and Kieran Furlong got the other goals for the winners, with Lee Kehoe and Adrian Nolan scoring for the hosts.

Rosslare Rangers and Bridge Rovers shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw, with Dan Halligan scoring for Rangers and Mark Browne getting on the scoresheet for the Castlebridge side.

Carne FC and Courtown Hibs eventually came away with a point apiece after a Division 4 goal-fest on Sunday.

Dean Maloney, Fintan Mullins, Robbie Reville and Harry Corish (two) got the goals for Carne in a 5-5 draw.

Ian Storey, Michael Reddy and Martin Og Storey hit the back of the net for The Ballagh United in their 3-1 win over Campile, with Craig Murphy replying.

Dickie Redmond bagged a hat-trick for Ferns United in their 7-1 win over Curracloe United. Owen Ronan chipped in with a double, while Byron Jordan and Anthony Dwyer added a goal apiece.

Camolin Celtic overcame local rivals Gorey Celtic 5-3, with Daryl Murphy (two), Pádraig Redmond, Peter Nash and Ryan Murphy scoring for the winners and Edmund Prudskojs, Kenneth Byrne and Greg O’Rourke replying.

Elsewhere, Crossabeg chalked up a 4-1 win over Kiltealy Celtic.
