Temple St raffle charity winners’ joy

MORE than €50,000 has been raised for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital by Tesco New Ross through raffles, including a home heating draw which took place recently.

New Ross woman Breda McManus won 250 litres of home heating oil from Campus Oil in the draw. Lee Cowman from Ballycohei­r won a 500 litres Campus Oil voucher, while Sean Carney, receiving on behalf of Danny Carney from New Ross, was the winner of 250 litres of home heating oil, while John O’Neill, from Ballinaban­ogue, won a €150 Staffords coal voucher.

Tesco Community Champion Mary McGrath said: ‘On behalf of management and staff I would like to thank the Spencer’s, Campus oil and Staffords Fuels.’

She said Campus Oil have for the seventh year donated 1,000 litres, with more great prizes offered by local businesses, including a garden table and two chairs from Culcitia garden furniture, a holiday for a group of six to the holiday homes in the Hookless village, a Katie Taylor boxing vest signed by Katie and 16 other elite boxing team, a man’s toiletries hamper, a five children’s Hasbro games and cuddly toys. Mary thanked Tadhg Furlong for signing the rugby jerseys.

‘Just drop in to Tesco New Ross Tuesday, Friday or Saturday and buy a line or three lines for €5. More prizes will be added to this list in the coming weeks. Thank you to all the people who donated prizes and bought lines in store.’
