U-18 LEINSTER LGE
ENNISCORTHY NEW ROSS 22 41
NEW ROSS RUGBY CLUB under-18 girls travelled to Enniscorthy at the weekend for another promising Leinster League fixture.
Early nerves among the New Ross girls soon dispelled with an early well worked try from scrumhalf Jessica Sutton. Further tries from Jessica Sutton and Molly Crowdle cemented a governing lead before Enniscorthy bagged a worthy try just before half-time.
Enniscorthy started the second half confidently with a rethought tactical game that rewarded them with some solid tries from set plays however the New Ross pack led by their Captain Ella Dalton took control of the game and forced Ennscorthy onto the back foot which enabled the Ross backline to attack holes in the Enniscorthy defence.
The New Ross girls capitalised on further forced errors which led to Jennifer Dunne intercepting a pass and running 50 meters before being brought down at the line and having the skill to pop the ball while falling into the hands of a charging Molly Crowdle to score. Two additional tries from an ever elusive Jessica Sutton saw New Ross win by 41 to 22.
