SOLOMON ISLANDS
The card games in Gusserane on Tuesday, February 12, will be in aid of Fr Jim Nolan’s missionary work in the Solomon Islands. Anyone wishing to make a donation to this cause can do so to any member of the parish committee.
DANCE
Gusserane parish council will hold a night of social dancing in Gusserane Hall on Friday, March 15. Proceeds are in aid of church funds, and more particularly towards a fill of heating oil. Tickets will be widely on sale in the area in the lead up to the dance and your support would be most welcome. Music on the night is by the popular Delta Dawn. Dancing is from 9.30 p.m. to midnight with a break for tea. The organisers would be delighted to have a full house and look forward to your support. Tickets only €5. Please take note of the date.
RUN/WALK
Ballycullane parents’ association are holding a 5k and 10k Run/Walk on Sunday, March 10. It starts at 10 a.m. and registration is from 9 a.m. that day. Entry costs €10 with under-16 participants costing €5 and a family of four costing €25.
ST LOUIS DAY CARE CENTRE
The board, management and staff say a very big thank you to each and everyone who contributed in any way to the running of the Daycare Centre in Ramsgrange. The acknowledgement and support received from the people of the five parishes we cover are really appreciated by all of us.
Your support is amazing and we could not do it without you. It all has contributed to the running of the Daycare Centre and its associated services. It is testament to the work, dedication and wonderful care given by all staff to our elderly citizens. Sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of you.
LOTTO SYNDICATE
Places are rapidly filling up in the Gusserane GAA Club’s lotto Syndicate. The club’s major fundraiser this year is aimed towards putting in a gym in the club house in Gusserane. It involves getting 300 people to sign up to €20 per month for a full year. Payment includes you in a large lotto syndicate where you will be included in each National Lottery and Euromillions Draw each week for the year and also includes a paid up ticket for the Model County Draw.
There will be two lucky winners drawn from the hat each month as well as a special draw for fully paid up members. The club will be looking for members to join up before the end of February. Further details are available from any member of the Gusserane GAA Club executive committee and from the Gusserane GAA Facebook and GORahilly Twitter accounts.
COFFEE MORNING
Senior citizens Concern CLG are holding a coffee morning on Tuesday, February 19, from 9 a.m. to noon in St Louis Day Care Centre. Proceeds in aid of the Day Care Centre. All welcome.
GUSSERANE SCHOOL
Gusserane National School is at present taking enrolments for the new school year 2019/2020. Please contact Sandra at 051 562107 between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Monday to Friday for an enrolment form or alternatively, you can email on gusseranens@gmail.com.

Cards Winners in the hall last week were Dave Murphy, Pat Whelan and Pat Murray. Second went to Alice Gaffney, Jamie Grangle and Johnny Colfer. In third place was Pat Ryan, Tom Corcoran and Watty Byrne while the LGD went to Johnny Larkin, PJ Doyle and Jim Kehoe. Raffle winners were Katie Whelan, Mag Cullen, Jamie Grangle and Pat Ryan.
