21 DAY WALKING CHALLENGE
For health benefits adults need to be active at a moderate level for at least 30 minutes a day on five days of the week. With that in mind, we would like to invite you to join our residents for a walk in the Bannow-Ballymitty GAA ground at 9 a.m. every morning. You can walk at your own pace, or you can walk on your own and record how long you walk each day for three weeks. Challenge yourself to increase your walking time each week. Let’s see how many miles we can walk collectively in 21 days. We have record cards which also contain some useful advice on how to get started. You can get one by calling to reception at Grantstown Daycare Centre.

FETHARD ST MOGUE’S GAA
The draws for this year’s championships took place last weekend. Fethard mark their return to the Senior Hurling championship with a game against Faythe Harriers on the weekend of April 13/14 followed by Rapparees the following weekend. Also in the group is Ferns, St Anne’s and St Martin’s. In Senior Football they start their campaign against last year’s champions Shelmaliers on the weekend of March 30/31 followed by St Anne’s the following week. Also in the group is Horeswood, Glynn-Barntown and Starlights.
COISTE NA NÓG
The under-17 football team lost out to home side Shelmaliers in the Jim Byrne Cup quarter final last Sunday. In a high scoring and entertaining game Shelmaliers got some late scores to win out 4-11 to 4-9.

There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €2,700. Next week’s jackpot stands at €2,800. The numbers drawn were 6, 8, 26 and 32. The club had two lucky-dip winners Sheila Barden and Agnes Waters, who won €30.

The winners of the Progressive 45 Card Game in Colclough Hall, Saltmills last Sunday night were, Margaret Cullen, Jimmy Cullen and John Joe Murphy. In second place between were Willie White, Carmel Kehoe and Dermot Bassett. In third place were Aidan Colfer, John Sinnott and Tom Culleton. The last game draw was won by Maura Cahill, Sonny Cahill and Michael Murphy. The raffle winners were John Joe Murphy, Catriona Caulfield, Willie White and Johnny Flynn.
ST LOUIS DAY CARE
The board, management and staff of senior citizens Concern CLG, St Louis Day Care Centre say a very big thank you to each and everyone who contributed in any way to the running of the centre. The acknowledgement and support received from the people of the five parishes we cover are really appreciated by all of us. Your support is amazing and we could not do it without you. It all has contributed to the running of the Daycare Centre and its associated services. It is testament to the work, dedication and wonderful care given by all staff to our elderly citizens.
