VEHICLE RUN

A Vehicle Run in aid of Caroreigh Church Fund will take place on this Sunday, February 24. leaving Camross Hall at 12.30 p.m. with registrati­on from 11.30 a.m. All vehicles must be insured and drivers have up to date licence. Registrati­on fee €20. Refreshmen­ts will be served in Camross Hall before the event and afterwards. Help would be appreciate­d to set up hall on Saturday the 23rd at 2 p.m. and also to serve food on Sunday before and after the event. Donations of buns, scones or cakes will be very welcome and also prizes for the raffle please.

DANCING AT CAMROSS

The March dance will be held on Friday, March 1, with music by T-Bone Country. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. till late. Adm. €10 including the tea. Come along and enjoy a good night in Camross Ballroom.

ATHLETICS CLUB NEWS

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the indoor leinster championsh­ips in Athlone last weekend. James Hanlon was first up competing in the under-18 1500m walk taking silver.

Grainne Kelly made her indoor debut running in the 60m and 60m hurdles. Hannah Kelly ran a comptetive 60m and 200m under-18 while Aisling Kelly took silver in the under-17 60m and 200m sprint qualifying for the indoor all irelands. Well done to all.

CAMOGIE NOTES

Our first fundraiser of the year is our annual table quiz, which will take place Thursday the 28th Feburary at 8 p.m. in the GAA complex Taghmon. €20 entry for a table of four There will also be a raffle on the night with some great prizes to be won. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

The ladies’ team are busy with their pre-season training, and preparatio­ns are under way for their first league match fixed for March 18.

TAGHMON ICA

Taghmon ICA will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, February 20, at 7.30 p.m., in the Scout Hall. Competitio­n: Nicest bunch of Daffodils. Speaker: Representa­tive of Order of Malta, this talk is open to all at 8.30. New members are always welcome, please join us at any meeting.

WEXFORD WATER SAFETY AGM

Wexford Water Safety’s AGM will take place on March 2 at 7.30 p.m. in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford.
