CARDS

Three teams finished with 13 games to share the prize money at the cards in St Leonards hall last week. They were; Peter Stafford, Paddy Murray, Tom Culleton and Brendan Colfer, Larry Larkin, Mick Reville and Johnny Colfer, Carmel Kehoe and Aidan Colfer.

The last game draw winners were Nick Doyle, Seán Colfer and Johnny Flynn. The raffle winners were Johnny Colfer, Charlie Collins, Jack White and Flynn White. The cards continue every Saturday night at 8.30 p.m.

CHRISTMAS MARKET

A Giant Christmas Market and Craft Fair will be held in Ramsgrange Community School on Sunday, November 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – All exhibitors from the local area are welcome and can contact the school at 051 389211 to book a stand.

It is expected that there will be up to 100 stands of local art, quality hand-made craft, decoration­s, pottery, baked goods, jewellery, toys and fancy goods and lots more so it promises to be a great occasion for people to visit and buy their Christmas gifts while also supporting local small businesses/crafts people. Santa will also be there in his grotto and there will be lots of other fun activities for all the family.

LATE MAUREEN O’SHEA

Many people in the Saltmills area were saddened recently to learn of the passing of Maureen O’Shea, Old Street Tintern and St John’s Wood London. Maureen made many friends during her frequent visits to Wexford over the last 40 years, and she loved spending time in her beloved home in Tintern old street. Maureen will be remembered at 10 a.m. Mass in Poulfur on Sunday, November 17, and afterwards at the Colclough hall Saltmills. All, who knew Maureen are welcome to come and remember her.

There was no jackpot winner in the Tintern lotto draw last week. James and Maria, from Clongeen matched and they received €200. The numbers drawn were 9, 11, 14 and 16. Next week’s jackpot is €11,900 and next week’s matchthree winners will share €200. Tickets on sale in all lcal shops and pubs and from committee members.

WEXFORD YOUTHS

Congratula­tions to Fiona Ryan, Clonmines, who was a member of the Wexford Youths team who captured the FAI Women’s Senior Cup for the second time on Sunday, November 3, at the Aviva Stadium. They defeated Peamount United on a score of 3-2.
