RACE NIGHT

The Fethard St Mogue’s GAA Club are holding a race night on Saturday, November 23, in Molloy’s Bar, Liam Spratt of Southeast Radio fame will be the commentato­r for the night. Horses are available to purchase from any committee member, player or in Molloy’s. This is one of the club’s main fundraiser­s for the year so please support.

FETHARD-ON-SEA CASTLE

Landscapin­g work will be undertaken on the grounds of Fethard-on-Sea Castle over the coming weeks. The work, which is being funded by a FLAG grant will see new paths, seating and picnic areas constructe­d. The project required and was granted Ministeria­l approval due to the historical significan­ce of the site and are being overseen by Stafford McLoughlin Archaeolog­y. Fethard Community Developmen­t Associatio­n looks forward to launching the redesigned grounds over the coming months for all to enjoy.

LATE MAUREEN O’SHEA

Many people in the Saltmills area were saddened recently to learn of the passing of Maureen O’Shea, Old Street Tintern and St John’s Wood London. Maureen made many friends during her frequent visits to Wexford over the last 40 years, and she loved spending time in her beloved home in Tintern old street. Maureen will be remembered at 10 a.m. Mass in Poulfur on Sunday, November 17, and afterwards at the Colclough hall Saltmills. All, who knew Maureen are welcome to come and remember her in this get together of her Irish friends.

From Saturday, November 2, Vigil Mass Templetown will be held at 6 p.m. in All Saints Templetown, Sunday Mass times Poulfur 10 a.m. and Templetown 11.30 a.m.

FETHARD SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Anne Barron, who won €72 in this week’s split-the-pot (October 31). Envelopes for split-the-pot are available in the post office, Dillon’s, The Wheelhouse, Molloy’s, Neville’s and the Tourist Office. Draw takes place every Thursday.

COISTE NA NÓG

The under-17 footballer­s, Moguegeen Gaels played Ballyhogue in the county final last weekend in Patrick’s Park. There was to be heartbreak yet again for the lads as they lost out by a point after extra time. The under-15 footballer­s play Ballinastr­agh Gaels the County Premier Final in St Patrick’s Park next Saturday at 11.30.

ST MOGUE’S LADIES’ GAA

The minor camogie team played Ballynastr­agh Gaels (Kilanerin-Ballyfad GAA and Tara Rocks GAA in their postponed county final last Saturday in Oylegate, full report in next week’s paper. The AGM of St Mogue’s Ladies’ club is on Friday, November 22, at 8 p.m. in St Mary’s Hall, anyone with an interest in being involved with the running of the club is welcome to attend.

WEEKLY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €6,700. Next week’s jackpot stands at €6,800. The numbers drawn were 1, 2, 4 and 19. The club had two lucky-dip winners, Louise Carroll and Mag Walsh while the previous week’s winners were Paul Barden and Kyle White, who won €30 each.

PROGRESSIV­E 45 CARD GAME

The winners of the Progressiv­e 45 Card Game in Colclough Hall, Saltmills last Sunday night were Johnnie Doyle and Eileen Doyle. In second place were Elish Breen and Liam Power. In third place John Sinnott, James McDonald and Aidan Colfer. The last game draw was won by Luke Power, Michael Kehoe and Tony Murphy. The raffle winners were Carmel Kehoe, Dermot Bassett, Michael Kehoe and John Sinnott.

ETERNAL BEGINNERS YOGA

Sorcha Hyland leads a beginner’s level yoga class every Thursday night, 7: 15 to 8.45 p.m. at Colclough Hall €10. Newcomers welcome. The focus of this class is to create a safe (brave) space for people of all abilities to learn how to manage stress and loosen up the body.
