Seaview still setting pace

Premier leaders score five

-

SEAVIEW CONTINUE to lead the way in the Women’s Premier Division after they travelled to Courtown Hibs and made it three wins from three courtesy of a 5-0 win.

Hibs played better than the scoreline might suggest, but Seaview are performing like a team determined to reclaim the Premier title.

Bríd Kehoe and Lisa Dower scored two goals each, with Keisha Tobin also on target to keep them two points clear at the top of the table.

Forth Celtic kept the pressure on the leaders as they overcame North End 4-0 to remain unbeaten and in touch with the top of the table. Lynn Marie Grant scored twice, with Sarah Siggins and Natasha Byrne-Rossiter adding a goal each.

Only one game survived in Division 1 as the other two games were postponed due to bereavements, but Adamstown and Corach served up a thriller worthy of a top of the table clash.

Adamstown enjoyed most of the possession in the first-half but found the Corach defence very difficult to break down, with Ann Marie Dunphy’s shot clipping the post proving to be their best chance.

Corach came more and more into the game in the second-half, with the home side’s defence tested on more than one occasion.

Midway through the half, Corach were awarded a penalty which Niamh Miller calmly slotted to the net for the only goal of the game, moving Ramblers three points clear at the top of the table.

Kiltealy lead the way in Division 2 as they overcame Fastnet Rovers 3-1 to give them their fifth win of the season. Shirley O Neill scored for Rovers, but two goals from Ciara Roban and one from Nicole Fortune saw the home side remain unbeaten.

New Ross Town moved second in the table when running out 4-0 winners over Bunclody, with Lina Smitate-McGrath, Aoife Nugent, Jenny Canning and Emma Rossiter all on target for the winners.

Shelburne continue to lead the way in Division 3after a comfortable 7-0 win over Ajax, with Katie Murphy scoring a hat-trick to add to goals from Jackie Carr, Gina Foley, Ella Foley and Niamh Kehoe.

In the other game in this division, All Blacks moved joint second in the table when they overcame Cushinstown 2-1.
