13 County Wexford organisati­ons get funding boosts

THIRTEEN COMMUNITY organisati­ons across Co Wexford have been given a great start to the year with most receiving €1,000 in funding from the Community Enhancemen­t Programme.

The programme is targeted at enhancing facilities in disadvanta­ged communitie­s, providing capital grants to community groups.

It replaced the re-cast RAPID programme and Communitie­s Facilities Scheme (CFS) in 2018.

The following Co Wexford organisati­ons have benefited from the Community Enhancemen­t Programme funding: Bridgemead­ow Resident’s Associatio­n, Enniscorth­y (€1,000 for the installati­on of CCTV), Enniscorth­y Swimming Club (€3,000 for sports equipment), Ramsgrange Men’s Shed (€1,000 for dust extractors), South East Regional Family Support Centre (€500 for a lockable storage cabinet), Adamstown Tidy Towns (€1,000 for four mounted litter bins and two bollards for the footpath), Cahore Inshore Rescue (€1,000 for a defibrilla­tor), Corach Men’s Shed (€1,000 for facilities’ upgrade), Corach Men’s Shed (€1,000 to Wexford Men’s Shed Fishing Group for life jackets and wet gear), St Mary’s Day Care Centre, Wexford, (€1,000 for the upgrade of facility to an office), Gorey Hockey Club (€1,000 for sports equipment), Raheen Community Developmen­t Group (€1,000 for storage press), Southend Family Resource Centre (€1,000 for life jackets), Wexford Working Men’s Club (€1,415 for woodwork equipment), Seal Rescue Ireland (€1,000 for the constructi­on of a community tree nursery).
