Kennedy College First Years enjoy month of activities
KENNEDY COLLEGE students have been busy over recent weeks between raising money for the St Vincent de Paul, to welcoming First Years with a number of initiatives.
The school hosted a school Christmas dinner where the entire school community got the change to sit down and dine together. Principal Michael Weafer thanked the Kennedy College canteen staff for all of their hard work on the day, along with Mr Kevin Lewis, CEO of WWETB for attending.
As part of the celebration, a collection was also made for New Ross St Vincent de Paul. ‘ Thank you to all of our students, staff and visitors who made generous donations. A cheque was presented to SVP New Ross by some of our staff and students.’
The school recently held its First Years Christmas Celebration. Parents, guardians, students and teachers all enjoyed a morning full of educational entertainment. The audience was captivated by students performing a Christmas play, followed by poetry recitals. ‘ The talent on display was fantastic,’ Mr Weafer said.
Following the performances, parents were invited to join staff and students for refreshments which were hosted by their sons and daughters.
Mr Weafer thanked the students for all of their hard work in preparing for the morning and also to the teachers involved in hosting such a wonderful event. He also congratulated Kennedy College Transition Year student, Szymon Blazejczyk, who was recently presented with a certificate of achievement by The Engineering Technology Teachers Association for achieving top marks in Metalwork at Junior Certificate,
