Sean loves working with leaders

-

My name is Sean Nolan and I’ve worked in the fitness industry for a long time setting up my first gym 24 years ago.

I am a qualified fitness instructor, Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Sports Nutritionist.

As the industry changes rapidly, science and studies evolve I find it important to constantly educate ourselves to face new challenges. I have travelled to enhance these studies and met some fantastic people along the way.

Handball is a sport I have a lot of passion for and I’ve played for Ireland in three World Championships: Chicago 2000, Canada 2015 and Minneapolis 2018, where I fulfilled a lifelong dream and won some medals.

Rugby was a sport I was also heavily involved in, being captain for the Anderson Cup in 2012 before a serious injury forced me to retire from this sport.

Cycling is another sport which I enjoy, taking part in numerous charity events including The Ring of Kerry and Tour De Leinster for Down Syndrome Ireland – a gruelling 175 kilometres a day, for four days!

My brother Michael joined me full time many years ago and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and numerous achievements behind him. With his support we have gone from strength to strength and have been involved with the Men’s County hurling and football

teams, Ladies camogie and football teams and also Wexford Youths Ladies.

We have given back to many of these teams through different forms of sponsorship over the years.

During the past year, Nolan Health and Fitness has expanded and we officially opened our new sister Gym in Bunclody.

On hand to cut the ribbon was Wexford Senior Hurling Manager Davy Fitzgerald and member and friend Maurice Kavanagh. Exercise is so important for the mind and Maurice can testify to this, having overcome several serious operations and life threatening illnesses, he credits his fighting spirit to exercise and the people he has met through the gym.

Helping people achieve goals they thought were not possible is one of the most enjoyable parts of our job.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with all the leaders over the last 6 years and we hope to continue to help more over the finish line each year. I have loved working alongside with top Irish Runner and Coach Kevin Murphy.

We hope to see you all on Sunday April 5th, whether its participating by walking, jogging, running or just showing your support along the way.
