CAMROSS DRAMA GROUP

The cast, director and crew have been busy rehearsing, building sets, gathering props and costumes for our first performanc­es of ‘The Year of the Hiker’ by JB Keane. We look forward to entertaini­ng audiences in: Camross Hall on Friday, January 31, Fethard-on-Sea - Sun, February 2, Clonroche - Saturday, February 8 and 9, St Michael’s Hall, Wexford - Sat 15and Sun 16 February. All shows at 8pm, €10 on door plus raffle. Like our Facebook Page for updates.

The lotto jackpot wasn’t won on Tuesday night. The next draw is on February 5 at 8.30 p.m. The jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner but the reserve jackpot will keep going up while we wait. It’s now up to €5,300.

Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the online Taghmon-Camross page on the KlubFunder website. The deadline for online sales is at 6.30 p.m. on draw night and the minimum spend on the online system is €6. Tickets can also be bought from usual outlets.

The club is also running a ‘Last Man Standing’ competitio­n. There is a link on the clubs Facebook page to the competitio­n on the clubs KlubFunder Website. Each week you pick a team to win a game in the Premier League. You can only pick any given team once in a competitio­n and if your team doesn’t win you are knocked out. Entry costs only €10 and 33% of the pot goes to the winner. First time around our winner won €367. All entrants knocked out on the first weekend will enter a draw to win €50. The competitio­n will close for entries on Friday night.

The LGFA club are running walking to get fit sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings down at the centre (from 7.30 p.m. onwards) if you are looking to start or resume a new exercise programme for 2020.

TAGHMON ATHLETIC CLUB AGM

Taghmon Athletic Club AGM is on Friday, February 7, at 8 p.m. in the Family Resource Centre, Taghmon. All are welcome to attend and support our local Athletic club. Any queries please contact a club member or call 087 6288547. Also, for current athletes our club registrati­on night is Wednesday, January 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

DANCING AT CAMROSS

The February First Friday dance will be held on Fri.7th with music by Michelle Murphy dance band. This will be Michelle’s first visit to Camross, so come along and give her and her band a great Camross welcome. Adm. €10 including the tea and dancing 9.30 p.m. till midnight. Free draw for dance passes.

CAMROSS HALL AGM

The AGM of Camross Hall was held in the hall on Wednesday, January 22, last with all committee in attendance. Chair. , Michael Doyle thanked all for their dedication and commitment to the efficient running of the hall and said he would be standing down after 14 years in the chair. Fr Robert McGuire presided over the election of officers and are as follows: chairperso­n, Breda Banville, vice-chairperso­n, Robert Nolan, secretary, Breda Nolan, Joint treasurers, Margaret Nolan and Margaret OGorman, PRO, Michael Doyle, ANCCR Reps, Ann and Eamonn OGorman, committee are the above officers plus Peggy Doyle, Fr Robert McGuire, Billy Nolan, Lar Banville, Eddie Colfer and Dympna Kelly.

The committee will hold the annual table quiz in Rochfords Lounge, Camross on Friday, February 28, at 8.30 p.m. with Liam Morrissey, Quizmaster, table of four, €20.

Camross Drama Group will present the full length play, ‘The Year of the Hiker’ in the hall on Friday, January 31, at 8 p.m. The Little Sea Music Group will present ‘The King and I’ in Camross from April 15 to April 18 inclusive.
