TABLE QUIZ

The annual Camross Hall table quiz takes place in Rochford’s Lounge Camross on Friday, February 28, at 8.30 p.m. Team of four cost €20 to enter. This will be a great night to challenge your general knowledge in a friendly social setting.

TRACTOR/VEHICLE RUN

Caroreigh Parochial committee will hold their annual Tractor/ Vehicle Run on Sunday, February 23. Registrati­on will be held in Camross Hall from 11.30 a.m. with the event moving off from hall at 12.30. Registrati­on €20 including free draw.

All vehicles must be insured and road worthy and all drivers have up to date licence. Tea served before take off and refreshmen­ts served in hall after the event. Help required on the day, also scones/buns would be very welcome.

TAGHMON ICA

Taghmon ICA will meet Wednesday, February 19, at 7.30 p.m. Competitio­n; Compose four lines to celebrate St Valentine’s’ Day.

A speaker from Hidden Hearing, Wexford, will give a talk commencing 8.30 p.m., this talk is open to all and should be very interestin­g and informativ­e.

CAMROSS ICA

The February meeting was held in Camross Hall on Monday, February 3, with Mary Kelly presiding.

Sympathies were extended to Marian Donnelly on the recent passing of her cousins. Minutes,

Correspond­ence and Finance were dealt with by Margt Nolan, Mary Nolan and Dympna Kelly.

The Irish Night will be held in Rochfords Lounge, Camross on Friday, March 13, in aid of Seniors Christmas party.

Four members will visit the Chelsea Flower Show with Wexford

Federation from May 19 to May 23.

The guild are very interested in the 2020 Special Occasion Competitio­n, which will be held on Thursday, June 18, in Bree.

The annual Outing is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, and ICA Has Got Talent competitio­n will be held in Camross Hall on Thursday, April 30.

Details on the One Day Craft school were distribute­d to members and there appears to be great interest in the various tasks. Members will visit Mairead O’Gormans on Wednesday the 19th next for the Craft Night, bring any unfinished objects.

Fourteen members attended the ICA 110th Anniversar­y lunch in Clayton Whites Hotel on Sunday, February 9, and the guild will be well represente­d at the Spring Federation Meeting which will be held on Monday the 24th in Riverbank House Hotel, Wexford.

The guild were to visit St John’s Hospital on Sunday, February 16, for a sing along and a chat.

Ann O’Gorman was the competitio­n winner at the meeting, which was the ‘most kissable lips’, any medium, and her entry will represent the guild at the Federation competitio­n.

Imogen Stafford gave a talk on Wire Sculpture after the meeting and members were very enthused, so much so that the guild will probably hold a One Day class over the next few months. Imogen had lots of samples of her work with her for us to choose from.

Ann O’Gorman and Esther Rynhart provided a delicious tea and all went home happy. The March meeting will be held on Monday the second in Camross Hall.

Taghmon Community Games would like to welcome new Committee Members Caroline Crotty and Maria Banville.

Upcoming events: County Chess Finals will take place on Thursday, February 27, in Piercestow­n at 7 p.m. Age Category is under-13 and under-16 – all boys, all girls or mixed. Panel of seven (five players and two subs).

County Draughts Finals will take place on March 14 (still to be confirmed). Age Category is under-10, under-12, under-14, under-16 – all boys, all girls or mixed. Panel of seven (five players and two subs). If interested in taking part, please contact Caroline Crotty at 087 7694395.
