AROUND THE DISTRICTS
Bannow-Ballymitty GRANTSTOWN COMMUNITY VILLAGE
Grantstown Community Village is still doing what we do best, caring for our cocooned residents in our sheltered houses and the local community.
Providing fresh nutritional meals on wheels, laundry, shopping, pensions and prescriptions for any people cocooning or in need of assistance within our community.
Although we cannot bring our missed clients into the Day Care Centre at this time, Lesley and her diligent team of volunteers are at the end of the phone each day checking on all clients in need of support, comfort and a warm friendly chat.
As this crisis unfolds Grantstown is as it has always been, here for all people who need assistance. We have signed up for the Community Support Helpline through County Wexford PPN and if you are feeling isolated at this time, please feel free to contact us at 051561016 and remember you are not alone and we would love you to pick up the phone and give us a ring and we will offer assistance to you in any way we can. Please stay home and stay safe, and together we will come through this to better days ?
A big Thank you for the GAA in assisting us with delivering the meals on wheels to the ever increasing numbers of vulnerable elderly that are being cocooned at this time. A big thank you to local businesses that have donated produce to help the superb kitchen staff to continue making healthy nutritious meals, namely: Mary Barry’s of Kilmore for supplying prepped Veg, Costcutters for supplying potatoes, Wallace’s SV for supplying meat, and many other members of the community offering support to the most vulnerable in our community. All credit goes out to you.
Two of our important values at Grantstown are kindness and gratitude and you are all astounding us with generosity and Kindness, and we wish to say that we will be eternally grateful to every single one of you Super Troupers that are helping us in any way during this time of crisis. Stay safe x
