Wexford County Council chairman was contacted by this newspaper on Saturday and, having been informed the tennis court at Pearse Park was not open to the public, he alerted council management.
New Ross Municipal District manager Mick McCormack confirmed the following day that the tennis court was to be open on Monday with social distancing rules in place.
