LATE KIERAN KEATING
The Gusserane area was shocked and saddened last week to hear of the untimely death of Kieran Keating.
A jovial character, Kieran was widely known throughout the area. He farmed, and worked part-time as the caretaker in Gusserane school by day and was an avid card player at night so he was known to young and old alike. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife, Dorothy, and children Ciara, Eddie and
Damien and to his wider family members and many friends on their sad loss.
Covid 19 restrictions were in place for Kieran’s funeral in Gusserane on Saturday, but the large crowds that observed social distancing on the route to the graveyard was testament to the esteem in which Kieran was held.
GDPR RESTRICTIONS
Because of data protection legislation it is now not possible for church authorities to release information regarding births, deaths and marriages in the parish to be included in the annual Tintern Review.
This segment in the booklet has always been hugely popular and it would be a pity to see these momentous events in the parish not be recorded. If you would like to have the happy occasion of a birth or marriage in the family, or the sad occasion of a death of loved one recorded in the Tintern Review, please email the details and confirmation of your consent to tinternreview@gmail.com.
SYMPATHY
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Tom Horgan of Boley on his passing last week. A native of Killarney, Tom had only moved to this area in recent times. Our thoughts are with his wife, Josephine, and sons on the loss of Tom at such a young age.
