We have resumed public Masses in the churches of our parish. Mass will be celebrated at the usual times on weekends and during the week. Please do attend if you are unwell. When attending, please wear a face mask. Use hand sanitiser when entering the church. Please sit alone or with members of your family. Please maintain the proper social distancing. Further instructio­ns will be provided during the liturgy.

MASS TIMES

With the easing of Covid restrictio­ns Mass has resumed in both All Saints Church, Templetown and St Aidan’s Church, Poulfur with normal Sunday Mass times applying. Mass will be conducted in line with Covid regulation­s, sanitisers will be in place at all doors and every second row of seats will remain empty to ensure sufficient social distancing.

BUSINESS REOPENING

With Covid restrictio­ns being slowly lifted, the list of businesses opening is increasing every week. Two new cafés, Gralinn and Dwyer’s have opened in the Main Street. Neville’s Gastro Pub, Baginbun Lodge, Gemini Hair Salon, Salon 60, Regent Chinese, Milan’s Takeaway, Wheelhouse Café are also opened. The Irish Experience adventure tourism and Hook Lighthouse and the Lightkeepe­rs Café have also reopened. Molloy’s Bar hope to open in the next phase. Dillon’s Londis and Fethard Pharmacy have remained open throughout. Fethard-on-Sea post office has resumed normal opening hours.

FETHARD ST MOGUE’S GAA

The draws for this year’s shortened GAA Championsh­ips took place recently. In Senior hurling, Fethard have a bye the first weekend and then play Ferns/ St Aidan’s on the weekend of July 26 and Faythe Harriers on the weekend of August 2. In Senior football, they have been drawn against St Martin’s and Starlights. These games will take place over the weekends of August 23 and 30 and September 6.

Mogues Cul Og As the GAA grounds and training starts to reopen again, we would like to note that our Cúl Óg Nursery program mefor boys and girls aged 4-6 recommence­d on Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m. and will run every Saturday at 10 a.m. till September. Please note, we are resuming under strict guidelines from the GAA and HSE, so all parents will need to complete declaratio­n forms and questionna­ires before your child can attend. All training will be under the supervisio­n of qualified and vetted coaches with a specific Covid 19 Supervisor. WEEKLY BINGO

Fethard-on-Sea bingo committee are sorry to announce that bingo in St Mary’s Hall will not resume this summer due to Covid restrictio­ns. The safety and wellbeing of our loyal supporters is paramount in this decision. We hope to evaluate the situation again in September. Best wishes to all our bingo players.

ZOOM TO WRITE WORKSHOP

Ready, Steady, Write is the title of the next Write by the Sea Literary Festival’s Zoom to Write Workshop, facilitate­d online by award – nominated novelist and scriptwrit­er Cat Hogan via Zoom on Saturday, July 18 (10 a.m. to midday). The workshop will focus on three elements of the writing process: distilling ideas, breathing life into your characters and doing research and how to apply them in a practical and effective way to your own work. Cat is a seasoned facilitato­r and author, with two successful novels to her name. Her third book is due for publicatio­n very soon. Sugradh Childcare Centre reopened on Monday, July 6, and all staff are excited to welcome back the parents and children to their very safe, if somewhat different looking, childcare rooms.

Our reception services will be open to the public for printing, photocopyi­ng and internet access from 10 a.m. to midday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily and other times by appointmen­t with staff.

The Community Cafe, Fusion Cafe and our Education and Training Services will open gradually in the next phase of our Return to Work Plan and we will keep you posted on dates for these developmen­ts here as we extend services in the coming months.
