PLAYER NOMINATIONS

The Wexford GAA player of the year nominations were recently finalised and well done to three young men from the Gusserane club on their nominations.

Mark Rossiter did enough in Gusserane’s two championship outings to impress the judges and be nominated for a corner forward position on the football team of the year.

Mark O’Nell and Seán Ryan proved to be two thorns in the sides of many opposing teams in 2020 as Gusserane powered its way to the intermediate A hurling title.

So there was little surprise when the two talented forwards both made the hurling shortlist. The virtual awards night will be streamed by Wexford GAA TV on Saturday, February 27.

JAMES KEHOE – A GREAT ATHLETE

Congratulations to Boley man, James Kehoe, on recently being announced as the second greatest athlete of all time by the World Games organisation.

James was shortlisted because of his unparalleled success at Tug Of War over may years. With numerous national and world titles to his name James’ selection was not only recognition for his own achievements but also of the achievements of his Boley teammates and mentors.

Unfortunately he did not secure top spot, which went to a Malaysian squash player, but he can be extremely proud of the result.
