Club team of year awards this Saturday

-

ALL WILL be revealed from 8 p.m. on Saturday next when the Cáirde Loch Garman GAA club teams of the year for 2020 are named in an event to be streamed live on Wexford GAA TV.

And along with selection of the top fifteens in hurling and football, a number of individual accolades will also be presented.

Three players apiece are in contention for the hurler, young hurler, footballer, and young footballer of the year awards respectively.

Along with that, there is a chance for followers to vote for their score of the year, with Ricky Fox’s late point for Starlights in the Dominic Smith Electrical Senior football championship final a clear favourite at this stage.

Over the past number of weeks we have exclusively revealed the names on each shortlist in our capacity as media partners for the awards.

And in this edition, to refresh memories and give everyone a final opportunity before casting their votes, we have devoted three pages inside to a re-cap of the assorted nominees.

It’s now possible to purchase a link to view Saturday’s inaugural streamed event - sponsored by Glen Fuels - via the Wexford GAA website or any of the County Board’s social media channels.

The link costs €5, and all those who subscribe will receive a form to vote for their players of the year, score of the year, and to select their football and hurling teams of the year.

The list of 75 nominees in each code was compiled by the commentators and analysts from Wexford GAA TV, and their views will also be taken on board along with the public vote before the final teams are announced.

The prestigious honour of being crowned overall hurler of the year rests between Jack Cullen (Naomh Eanna), Conor Hearne (Shelmaliers) and John Leacy (Glynn-Barntown), with Ben Brosnan (Castletown), Pa Doyle (Starlights) and Rory O’Connor (St. Martin’s) on the football shortlist.
