Wexford TDs are now taking full advantage of modern technology in their effort to keep the public fully informed of their activities in the Dáil.

Last week, there was a major Dáil debate on erosion in Rosslare and Labour’s Brendan Howlin was joined by Avril Doyle in having a copy of the proceedings transmitted to this newspaper’s office by FAX within hours of the debate ending.

This enabled readers of Wexford’s favourite newspapers to read a full report of the debate in last week’s issue.

Meanwhile, Deputy Ivan Yates is still just posting out a copy of the Dáil record when passing on his speeches. This week, his contribution to the Budget debate arrived on our desk. He made the speech on January 28th, more than two weeks ago.

Obviously Ivan hasn’t yet discovered the fast life of new technology.
