SPLIT-THE-POT

The winner of the split-the-pot draw on Monday, February 15, was none other than Master Luke Cullen from Yoletown, who won the pot that was worth €208. The seller again was Larry Whelan from Clongeen, so well done to all who took part and the sellers of course, without them it wouldn’t happen. The next draw is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 1.

You can get your tickets for the draw from the usual outlets which are: Sinnott’s Shop in Clongeen; the Fast Food Takeaway and Foulksmills Stores, both in Foulksmills.

In Wellingtonbridge you can get them from: Lloyds Chemist, Stafford’s Chipper and Wallace’s Drapery. They can also be got from any of the committee members, especially Larry Whelan, who manages to sell the winner on a lot of occasions. Thank you for the continuous support which is very much appreciated.

THE MATER FOUNDATION

Congratulations to John Hopkins who set about raising a few quid in supporting a good cause, namely the Mater Foundation.

His original aim was relatively small at €150, but he’s gone way beyond the €200 mark, which for one person to do is great. If one in every parish did it, they’d get millions, so fair play to John and those who have donated.

If anyone would like to donate, you can hunt him dow via Facebook where you can make a small donation if you like. All the money is used to for support for the Mater Public Hospital, so that it can continue advancing care for every patient.
