CLONROCHE GARDENING CLUB

Continuing progress in the project to develop a gardening club for Clonroche was furthered this week with the installation of raised seed beds in Clonroche Amenity Park.

A 10m Polytunnel was installed some months ago. This will present an ideal opportunity for people interested and horticulture and gardening, especially, but not exclusively for, the older generation. It will present an opportunity for social interaction and an interesting hobby.

A Horticultural Instructor will be available to the group for at least one year, with classes in plant propagation and husbandry. We will offer this opportunity not only to the people of Clonroche, but to our neighboring parishes.

There will also be opportunities to discuss and liaise with other Gardening Groups and so develop further expertise. If you know of anyone interested in this project please have them contact any member of Clonroche Development Association or Raheen Family Resource Centre at 051 442888 asking for Carmen. As we are not about to enter the Spring season, don’t let this opportunity pass you by
