Bannow-Ballymitty Ladies’ Football Club are bringing to you a St Patrick’s’s Day like no other with a Virtual 5K run/walk. For one day only forget about Lockdown and let’s come together by being apart.

On the day dress up and wear green and post your photos and videos and tag Bannow-Ballymitty Ladies’ Football Club. Prize for the best video/photo on the day so come on everyone and make a great effort.

MASS ONLINE

Mass for Carrig-on-Bannow church will be online on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. on churchserv­ices.tv then county Wexford then Carrig-on-Bannow. There is Mass also at 10 a.m. Tuesday to Friday.

CAMOGIE AWARD

Congratula­tions to Breda O’Sullivan, who was the worthy winner of the 2020 Volunteer Of the year award for Wexford camogie. Breda has served many years to club and County in camogie and has many years to look forward to.

Since the camogie club was formed in 1989 Breda has been involved in various positions on committees throughout the club in both club and camogie and her tireless Fundraisin­g events that has taken place over the years you can be guaranteed Breda would be in your corner to help in any way possible.

From underage Mangement and our junior teams Breda was never too far away from the action both on and off the pitch. Many thanks for what you do for the club Breda from us all over in Grantstown.

We are missing the sound of lively chatter and laughter surroundin­g us in the day care centre every day. We hope our day care clients are keeping well and we are keeping in touch with you all by telephone, however, if you ever feel the need a chat or a friendly catch up, please do not hesitate to call us any time at 051 561016 as someone will always be available for a natter.

We understand that these unpreceden­ted times can be challengin­g in many ways, so if you have any concerns at all we are here to listen. We are starting to see a stretch in the evenings and hopefully people’s spirits will start lift with the brighter evenings. If out and about remember to wear your mask and to social distance.

MEALS ON WHEELS

We are gaining new customers every week for our meals on wheels service, we hope our clients are enjoying the meals which are delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is very easy to avail of a 2-course meal which includes a hot nutritious main course and a delicious desert, all for a very affordable cost. CE SCHEME

There is currently a vacant position available on our CE Scheme for an environmen­tal worker in the village of CarrigIf you are in receipt of a social welfare payment or unemployed for over 12 months, you may eligible for a CE Scheme.

To be part of a CE Scheme is a great opportunit­y to access training and to build on your existing skills or to learn and train in a new skillset. The position involves working 19.5 hours per week. SENIOR ALERT ALARM

This alarm system is designed to help elderly people live securely in their own homes with confidence, independen­ce and peace of mind. The alarm or pendant which can be worn as a wrist bracelet or around the neck is completely free for the first year and a small yearly monitoring fee will apply after that. We here at Grantstown Day-care centre can apply for the alarm for you. If you or someone you know in the community could benefit from having one of these alarms, please phone us at 051 561016.
