NEWBAWN SPORTS GROUND BINGO FUNDRAISER

Newbawn sports ground are hosting an online bingo fundraiser on Friday, April 30, at 7.30 p.m., so eyes down at 8 p.m.

Book of four pages cost €20, with a total of 12 cash prizes. There will also be numerous spot prizes. Funds raised go directly to the community sports ground which at this time, is in desperate need of funds.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our fundraising efforts have been seriously curtailed. The walking track provides an invaluable facility to our community and this fundraiser will ensure its survival. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Bingo books are available from members of the sports ground committee or telephone 086 373548 for further information. The bingo books can also be purchased in the post office.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The Newbawn split-the-pot will resume in April online. The minimum spend online will be €4 for two entries. Anyone who does not wish to play online can pick up regular envelopes in the back of the church or in the post office for the usual €2 per envelope.

The draw will coincide with the Parish Draw which is held on the last Sunday of each month. We hope the community will continue to support the draw as the proceeds are divided equally between the parish and the sports ground. Thank you for your continued support.

THE LATE MARY FURLONG

Much regret was caused around the Newbawn/Adamstown/ area in the last week due to the sad passing, following a recent illness, of Mary Furlong (née Farrell) of Tomgarrow and formerly of Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny. Sympathy is extended to her husband Ned, sons Éamonn and Shay, daughters Brenda, Deirdre and Eilís, and many other relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Lisa. She was a well-known member of the local community. Her burial Mass took place last Thursday in Adamstown Church.
