IMNDA FUNDRAISER

Friends of MND Sufferers South East have arranged an online fundraising drive and awareness campaign to go towards providing services to people with Motor Neurone Disease. From the beginning of April till June 21 (Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Day) you are being asked to walk, run or cycle as much as you like and to take a picture and post it on social media on June 21. You will receive a T-shirt in recognition of your efforts. Donations to the cause can be made online from now and you don’t have to complete the exercise to donate. Just go to idonate.ie and search Midsummer Monday Marathon. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

CAR DRAW

St Leonards soccer club are embarking on a major development at their pitch in Ballycullane which will have very positive benefits for the youth of our parish for years to come. To alleviate the cost of the development the club is holding a fantastic fundraising draw where you could win a brand new Mitsubishi Spacestar car. Tickets are only €20 and the draw will take place on May 3. Tickets can be purchased online at member.clubforce.com/ StleonardsFCDraw or by contacting any committee member. See the club’s Instagram and Facebook pages for full details.

BINGO

The curtain came down on the Gusserane Ladies’ Football Club’s bingo nights last Wednesday for the time being when Tony Murphy called out the last set of numbers. The club hope to resurrect the fundraiser again later in the year but for the moment they would like to thank the people of the parish and beyond for their support over the last eight weeks. Winners last week were Brooke Dunning, Blanaid White, Chaddy Mountford, Lauren Egan, Pat

O’Connor, Trish Doyle, Lorna Sheehan, Joan Foley, Annette Molloy, Lar Whelan, Mary Murphy and Finny Ryan. Spot prizes went to John Kent, Carrie Browne, Trina Barron, Brid Heavey, Lisa Finn, Cathriona Sinnott, Josie Cullen, Aaron Curry, Jason Scott and Mark Rossiter.

Finally, thanks also to the sponsors on the night: O’Neill’s Takeaway, Muriel Culleton, Daybreak Ballycullane, The Apex New Ross, Caulfield’s Centra, Roche’s Campsite, Ballycullane PO, Wallaces SuperValu, Séamus Kehoe Terrerath and Gusserane GAA.

GARDEN FURNITURE

The evenings are getting longer and as a result, tickets sales for the Gusserane GAA club’s online raffle, where the grand prize is a fantastic patio set of furniture and a gas barbecue, are picking up week-onweek. The furniture set includes a table, umbrella, four armchairs and four ottomans, all of which can be stored during the winter in a neat cube when not in use. Tickets cost only £10 and sales are restricted to 700 so the best advice we can give is not to hang around. To enter, just click on the link on the club’s Facebook and Twitter pages or you could google the words Raffall Gusserane. The draw will take place on May 1 or when the last ticket is sold if sooner. Tickets are also on sale in Ballycullane PO for those unable to purchase online.
