This is what Tipsters Hate most

Here are the six main bugbears for top tipsters

-

Here at Betting Gods, our tipsters often get asked what are the most frustrating aspects of the life of a tipster – so we decided we’d share with you the six things they hate the most!

NO6 THE DREADED COUGH

Sometimes horses you’ve tipped-up run way below expectations, and it really rankles when the interviewed trainer suddenly tells you that a few of his string have been coughing. However, it’s even more frustrating when that same trainer wins with a horse you would have tippedup the very next day if he hadn’t shared that piece of information.

NO5. LOSING OUT IN A PHOTO FINISH

Being a tipster can be stressful enough, and there’s absolutely nothing worse than agonising over a photo finish, only to find out that your tip has got collared right on the line. It’s even worse when you see on the replay that your horse was in front just before the line and just after it – but somehow not on it.

NO4. ALL DRESSED-UP AND NOWHERE TO GO

If there’s no better thrill for a tipster than highlighting the horse with the best chance in a race and watching it win, then there’s nothing more frustrating than knowing you’ve picked the best horse and watching it somehow lose. This usually happens when a horse gets stuck behind horses and can’t get out,or when it wins a race on its own side of the track but gets beaten by horses more favourably drawn – and boy is that frustrating!

NO3. USELESS WEATHERFORECASTERS

There’s nothing worse than checking the weather forecast, then spending a chunk of time trying to work out which horse is going to win on the prevailing good-tofirm ground, only to find that the course was hit by a freak storm that no overpaid weather forecaster could see on their expensive machines.

NO2. LONG LOSING RUNS

Long losing runs are frustrating, indeed stressful for tipsters who make their living by a combination of betting on their own tips and providing that information to others. However, experienced tipsters know these losing runs will happen at some point – and that’s why they recommend that all followers adopt the correct betting bank to allow for these periods.

NO1. BEING JUDGED ON JUST A FEW TIPS

As a tipster, all we can ask punters is to be given a fair crack of the whip. Any tipster worth his salt will tell you that making money from betting on horses has to be a long-term investment, however many punters paying for tips for the first time expect to get rich quick – which is seldom the case. Therefore, if you’re currently following a tipster, or thinking about paying to follow one in the near future, please give them the chance to prove their talents over a decent period of time such as a few months (preferably a year) - not just a handful of tips!
