Laptop luxury in malta

Ian Harrison gets a happy holiday

-

I’ve often wondered whether a tipping service like Goldcrest could operate from overseas and I have just found the answer. I went to Malta for a holiday between October 5-15 and took my laptop with me.

There I found two winners and the best of these was Opt Out which won at 7/2 early price. The ten days produced three points in the end which proved that all the information you need is on the internet through ‘racingpost.com’ and ‘sportinglife.com’. Couple those with ‘oddschecker.com’ and that is all you need. Those who took up my offer of a free October are very pleased they did so.As of today, (October 18), the totals are: 6 bets, 4 won, 9 points. 150% ROI.

I am surprised that more people don’t take early prices but I know that 95 per cent of my selections will come down in price.Knowing that,my advices mostly go out the evening before. Opt Out, our winner at an early price of 7/2 on the 12th had an SP of 4/1 so those clients who bet Best Odds Guaranteed had a laugh.

My best priced winner this year ran on October 18. Rural Celebration in the 5.00 Newcastle was 6/1 when I gave it out the night before. It won easily from the front at an SP of 15/8. If you have a good strike rate and your prices generally come in you need to get busy at 6.30 the evening before. One of my clients had his bet severely cut back with Hills but got 11/2 with Bet365.

Do you check to see whether the jockey on board your selection has won on it before or been placed? You should throw it out if the jockey has either never ridden it or been down the field in its previous runs with him. There is always consternation in the media when one of the classic horses has a new jockey on board. They fight hard to maintain the same jockey on these top flight horses and the same rule applies in a Class 6 at Lingfield.

Speaking of Lingfield, I went to their Battle of Britain celebration where the Andrews Sisters were singing and the ladies were dressed in 1940’s fashions. This year I decided to go to their Oktoberfest which was strangely held in September.I expected beer to be served in steins, dirndl skirts and puff sleeved blouses.I expected to see some lederhosen and maybe an Oompah band. What a disappointment.I spotted one dirndl skirt and nothing else.

I started a Christmas Fund on August 1 with a £200 bank. The total by the end of September was £614 and the new stake £60.Betting on the horses can never equal the totals you see from the Lottery. You have to take things a lot slower and think long term. Setting up a bank is the best way to do it and at the end of each month you increase the stakes to the new ten percent. Simple. All you need is patience and no, you can’t bet every day. Did you know that if you set up a £1000 bank and double your bank every month and set a level 10% stake you would have made over £4m by the end of the year.
