Dave Youngman with the latest news and gossip from HQ

Avery big thank you to all those who have joined my racing club. And what a start for you with ANNA MEDICI winning three races on the reel for us.The coming weeks till the end of the season in November will be very exciting for all my members with plenty of as yet unraced horses to run for us and some first time out two-year-old winners to look forward to. I love this time of year as we see the juveniles coming to the course for their first races and we see if they are as good as we have thought on the gallops in their work.

MANY of you have asked to see a picture of Zuzanna my trusty assistant at my racing club so you can put a face to the voice on the phone. I know you all enjoy your talks with her about racing when you speak to her,so here is her picture, taken at Newmarket.Zuzanna particularly likes the time we spend with Sir Michael Stoute at his Freemason Lodge and Beech Hurst yards. If the racing club continues to grow as it is at present we will have a record number of members next season.

TRAINER Roger Varian had Japanese jockeyYuga Kawada riding work recently. He rode with Jamie Piggott on the Limekilns.Jamie, son of the great Lester,is a fine rider like his famous father. The twoyear-olds at the Varian stable are now doing faster work and the yard should have some nice winners before the season end.

WORK is nearing completion atWarren Place and horses will soon be going into training there again. Godolphin will do well and it will be nice seeing former Henry Cecil assistant Mike Marshall and Shane Fetherstonhaugh back at the famous yard. I am looking forward to spending time around there again like I did with Henry Cecil for so many years. Sheikh Mohammed will be having Anthony Stroud, David Loder and Jonno Mills doing the buying of the new yearlings now that John Ferguson is no longer involved at Godolphin.

SIR Michael Stoute has some lovely juveniles this year. The unraced pair of colts MIDI and REGAL REALITY are both working really well. PRIVATE VIEW is a filly by Exceed And Excel that has been catching my eye in her work on the gallops lately. She will need fast ground to be at her best, most progeny by Exceed And Excel do.

NEWMARKET has the open weekend on the 16-17 of this month and I hope to meet as many readers as possible there. Charlie Appleby will be opening Moulton Paddocks for Godolphin this year and that is worth a visit. Charlie told me he will have all his stable stars on show for you to see. Travelling head lad Tony Garth is always worth talking to,he has so much racing experience.

SIR Mark Prescott was delighted to get ANNA MEDICI into the winner’s enclosure recently for Neil Greig as he has been such a loyal owner over the years at Heath House.EASYWIND had a sighter recently and is also now ready to win for owner Chris Jenkins. Sir Mark is hoping to place ALTERNATE ROUTE to advantage soon for owner PJ Mcswiney and the Osborne House Syndicate. This horse has been working in much better fashion since being gelded and looks sure to land a nice touch.
